John and Fiona Griffin met when working in Burnham market, after marrying and spending a few months in India, they came back to set up their own business in 1997. The shop has grown in reputation, earning them Fishmonger of the year twice by the Eastern daily press food awards.
John honed his skills in London before moving to Norfolk to not only run he shop on a daily basis, but also joins Gaulton Blackiston, chef owner of Morston hall and participant in the BBC Great British Menu, on his fish workshops to demonstrate how to select and prepare fresh fish.
He has also been invited by Delia Smith again this year to work with Alex Mackay on the fish cookery demonstrations at Norwich Football Club. |
